Style guide
The logo, colours, typefaces and tone of DemoResto: what the restaurant gets with its site, for its menus, social media and print.
1 · The logo
A plate, the Alps, the lake
The mark draws what the house is about: a plate rim with the mountains over the water. It goes with the name set in Cormorant Garamond, or alone where space is short (favicon, stamp, social media).
- Leave around the logo at least the height of the mark’s inner circle.
- Smallest size: 24 px on screen, 8 mm in print for the mark.
- Never stretched, turned, outlined or shaded; no colours other than those below.
2 · Colours
Two themes, one palette
The site has a dark theme (the default here) and a light one; each guest can switch. The values come straight from the site’s style sheet.

A serif for the plate, a sans for the facts

A seasonal cuisine, products from the region and attentive service, without fuss. We come for the view and come back for the plate.

One line, one weight
Drawn on a 24 px grid with a 1.5 px line, rounded ends. They follow the colour of the text around them.
6 · Photographs
Dark, warm, close to the plate
- Dark background, warm light from the side, a little steam or a shine on the sauce.
- Dishes square and seen from above or at 45°; rooms at dusk, the lake in the window.
- No flash, no white backdrop, no stock photos: guests notice.
7 · Tone
Warm, precise, never pompous
We speak to guests with “vous”, in short sentences, with the concrete detail that makes them hungry.
We write
“Fera from the lake, caught this morning in Lutry, with a Chasselas beurre blanc.”
“Your table is kept 15 minutes. Running late? A call is enough.”
We avoid
“A symphony of flavours in an exceptional setting.”
“Any delay of more than 15 minutes will result in cancellation.”
